The Stearns lineage is one of my favorites because it is has such deep American roots and rich history. Having originally immigrated to America in the early 1600's, many settled in the New England states. Our branch moved south into North Carolina and eventually Kentucky.
The surname is also many times spelled as Starnes among other variations. Our immediate Stearns (Starnes) history is rooted in southern Kentucky.
